Company Profile
Shipyard IDP is specialized in the repair and construction of professional vessels.
We offer mechanical works, engineering, steel construction works (as well as aluminium and stainless steel construction).
Our customers range from fishing vessel owners to navy fleet managers and ferry operators.
Established in 1922 as a co-operative society to support the fishing fleet of Oostende, under the name “Industrielle des Pêcheries”.
The destroyed workshops were rebuilt after the Second World War and the company developed as main activity the support and maintenance of the Island fishing fleet.
This business expanded into general technical work inside and outside the fishing fleet.
By the end of the seventies, Shipyard IDP built the motor vessels MRB-10 and MRB-11 for the Port of Oostende, followed in 1980 by the self-righting life rescue vessel R-4.
In 1982, IDP constructed its first big fishing trawler: 37 m - 1400 pK (Z.284). This successful project was followed by the trawler Z.185, and fishing trawlers Z.207, Z.70, O.316, O.187 and Z.186.

For the dredging industry, the shipyard built the high-tech sounding vessel Oostende-11 and the cutter dredger DC-203.
Shipyard IDP has completed a long series of conversions, modernizations, overhauling, and construction work for the fishing fleet, dredging companies, ferry ships and cargo companies.
